School Counselor (Counseling Department)

My name is Indya Sweet and I serve as the proud High School Counselor at Nash-Rocky Mount Early College High School. I have been working with my Early College family since January of 2022.

 

I am a proud high school graduate of Nash-Rocky Mount Early College High School/ Nash Community College, Fly High Eagle Pride! I am a graduate of UNC-Pembroke......twice, Go Braves!  I have a double major including a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Biology. Secondly, I graduated with my Masters of Arts in Professional School Counseling.  I have been working as an educator for 9 years. 

 

I am always excited to work with our scholars, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to cultivate eagar scholars for our future. This year (2023) my word is GROWTH. Scholars are encouraged to research college requirements for ACT and SAT scores. Scholars can reach out to any ECHS teacher, Mrs. Davis, or Mrs. Sweet for assistance!
 
 
AVID Elective Class: Scholars work in collaborative study groups in their AVID class. Please speak to your AVID Teacher if you need more support! 
 
Nash Community College Learning and Tutoring Centers: ECHS Scholars are encouraged to visit NCC's learning and tutoring centers. For assistance with an essay, scholars should visit the English Studio located on second floor of Building D. For all math needs, the Math Tank is open and can be found on first floor of the Science & Technology Building. The STILL offers support to students enrolled in Science courses at NCC. Scholars can visit the STILL located on the second floor of the Science & Technology Building.

ECHS Counseling Department provides all scholars equal access for scholarship searches. We update on our school website and send information to scholars' email accounts when scholarships are made available. Scholars are encouraged to utilize this page and we encourage them to seek out scholarships with parent/guardians. We recommend scholars begin working early but note that some scholarships are for our super seniors only. Scholars and families are encouraged work diligently in filling out applications for scholarships. Please email Mrs. Sweet if you have any questions or concerns pertaining to scholarships!
