Eagle Families, This is Principal McGeachy with some brief announcements. First, I want to thank those parents who made it to AVID Family Night last Thursday. We had a fantastic turnout, and our staff enjoyed meeting with families and scholars. If you haven’t already heard, Dr. Ellis and the board of education have determined that our scholars will not have to make up the school day that was missed on August 31st. Eagle Families, I have been notified by transportation that a driver has not been secured for Bus 214 for tomorrow's route. Again, for those scholars who ride Bus 214 and cannot attend due to the lack of transportation, their absence will be "Excused," but they are still responsible for making up any missed work. Teachers will make assignments available to them via Canvas. Scholars taking college courses will need to communicate with their professors for missed work. We will work through the College Success Coach, Mr. Foster, to notify NCC professors about the absences due to bus transportation. Thank you for your patience. Principal McGeachy

Eagle Families, This is Principal McGeachy with a few announcements. I hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful weather during this Labor Day Weekend. As a reminder, school is closed tomorrow in observance of Labor Day, and we will welcome scholars back on Tuesday, September 5th. This week, there are three important reminders: 1. We will host AVID Family Night on Thursday, September 7th from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. This will be a floating event and will allow families to meet with teachers and ask questions. During this event, we will also be able to assist with Parent Portal sign-up. 2. The deadline for scholars still requiring mandated vaccinations is September 6th. Vaccinations must be completed for scholars to attend classes after the deadline. 3. Friday, September 8th, Progress Reports will be available in Power School. Dear NCPS Family: Nash County Public Schools (NCPS) is launching the "Growing Forward Together" campaign, marking a significant step in our demerger process. This initiative reflects our commitment to education with a seamless transition for our community. This is an invitation to attend either one of the upcoming forums regarding the Nash County Public Schools (NCPS) and Edgecombe County Public Schools (ECPS) Demerger, which goes into effect July 1, 2024. We are inviting impacted families and staff to be a part of our NCPS forum, to learn more about the demerger process. Nash-Rocky Mount Early College HS is closed tomorrow, August 31, 2023, in accordance with the message sent out by Nash County Public Schools. Scholars who are enrolled in college courses will be held harmless and WILL NOT have to attend classes even though the community college is currently scheduled to be open. Scholars enrolled in college courses will be expected to make up any missed work and should communicate with their college professors via email & Moodle to determine specific requirements. ECHS Families: Remember there is no school Monday, September 4th in observance of Labor Day. Thursday, September 7th is AVID Family Night/Open House. This night is a floating event beginning at 5:30 PM and ending at 7:00 PM. Come meet your scholar's teachers and learn about how you can be an active part of ECHS!

Eagle Families, This is Principal McGeachy with your updates. Believe it or not, we’re entering our fourth week of school! Progress reports will be available in PowerSchool on September 8th, so I want to emphasize the importance of accessing the Parent Portal. If you’re experiencing difficulty accessing Parent Portal, please don’t hesitate to contact the school for assistance. Also, for those families who have received a letter from Nurse Reason regarding required vaccinations, I want to remind you that required vaccinations must be completed by September 6th. If you have questions or need information on where to go for vaccinations, don't hesitate to contact Nurse Mamie Reason at the school. Dear Parents and Guardians, This letter is Part 2 of the initial bus email sent on 8/24/2023 regarding our school bus services. This information is intended for those who have submitted the transportation form for the 2023-2024 school year. As previously mentioned, the buses will continue to service all routes, albeit with some delays in reaching the schools. Update on Bus Information: Starting today, Friday, August 25, 2023 - you can login to the link below to find your child's bus information, Some of you may see only "a.m./morning" but it will be the same bus in the "p.m./afternoon." Eagle Families, This is Principal McGeachy with a few announcements as we head into week 3 of the 2023-24 school year. First, continue to remind your scholars to check their school email accounts for important information from our school counselor and teachers. If your scholar is enrolled in college courses, it is equally important for them to check their college email accounts. Secondly, a reminder that parents picking up scholars at dismissal should continue to park while waiting for their scholar rather than forming a car line. Thirdly, a huge "thank you" to the members of the Academic Booster Club for providing breakfast to our staff last Friday. Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. Building parking lot are asked to park while waiting rather than forming a car line. This will increase safety in the area. Thank you and have a wonderful day!
