Happy May 1st Eagle Family! Please join us in saying thank you to Dr. McGeachy on Principal Appreciation Day! We thank you, Dr. McGeachy, for all you do for everyone at ECHS! The Communication Team would like to share the last Eagle Eye Newsletter for this school year. We appreciate all they do to communicate important events taking place at ECHS! Don't forget that Exam Week for EOC and Non-EOC classes begin May 13 and end on May 16. Our third annual End of the Year celebration will be on the last day of school which is May 17. Today, May 1st, is Principal Appreciation Day. Good evening, Eagle Families! This is Principal McGeachy with your updates as the month of April comes to an end: Starting off, I want to say that our scholars looked amazing as they arrived for prom Saturday night! They seemed to enjoy themselves as they experienced their night in the “Enchanted Forest.” There are just 10 instructional days remaining before EOC Exam and Summer Opportunity: Students who pass their EOC class (Biology, Math I, Math 3, & ENG II) and are not proficient on the EOC will be expected to take the EOC again during the Summer Opportunity. The Summer Opportunity for Math I and Math 3 will be offered on May 22nd and Biology and English II will be offered on May 23rd. Testing will begin at 8:00 a.m. on those days. Scholars who qualify for the Summer Opportunity test but do not take the assessment will not receive credit for the class. Our Super Senior Dinner will be held on Thursday, May 2nd, in the Brown Auditorium. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Lastly, if you weren’t aware, Old Carriage Road has reopened, and you can now access the campus from the main entrance to NCC. As always, thanks for your support. Good Morning! Here are today's announcements: *Scholars please remember to have your parents sign the Model Release Form so that your photos can be used on our school’s website, social media platforms, yearbook, and much more! If you need a paper copy of the form, see Mrs. Copeland in the front office. The Model Release form can be found on the school’s website. Ask your AVID teacher for assistance! All yearbook orders have ended and extra yearbooks will be on sale when they arrive in the front office. More details will be announced soon. EOC check-ins for classes will begin April 22nd through April 25th. We have 15 instructional school days left until the EOC. Please remember that you must take out your items before entering the school building for a security check. All lunches from the grill must be pre-ordered. If you are late to class due to picking up lunch from the grill you will be asked to receive a tardy. Make sure to check your Nash NCC emails and high school emails at least twice a day and provide a reply to respondents. Please do not eat food in the maker space. Students can begin to return College Textbooks to Mrs. Jenkins starting May 1st. FCA will have devotion at 9:15 every Friday in Mrs. Renck’s room. Please feel free to join them. Please quiet in the hallway because we are testing today. Mr. Denton has sent an email about schedule changes. Please fill out the Google form for any changes. This link will close on Friday, May 10th. The next NHS meeting will be April 26th and will be the last meeting for all members. Mrs. Davis has sent an email for more information.

Our Awards Day Program will be held on Wednesday, April 24, at 3:00 p.m. in the Brown Auditorium. The ECHS prom will be held in the Brown Auditorium on Saturday, April 27th, from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Scholars who have purchased tickets will receive them this week from the front office beginning on Tuesday. Exam week will start May 13-17! See the flyers about Exam Schedule and College Book Returns. Remember, EOCs are mandatory. You can not be exempt from English II, Math I, Math III, or Biology EOCs. The Nash-Rocky Mount Early College High School's Awards Day Program will be held on April 24, 2024. Scholars receiving awards were notified by email to come to the main office to receive an invitation from Mrs. Copeland. We are excited to celebrate our scholars receiving special recognitions on April 24, 2024, from 3:00-4:30. Our Awards Day program is a school-wide event unless a scholar is in a Nash Community College class. Scholars can speak to an Early College teacher if they have questions.

Please contact your scholar’s teacher if you have questions or concerns regarding grades. On Thursday night, April 18th, the Class of 2024 will depart for Universal Studios to participate in Grad Bash ‘24. Again, we thank all who supported our scholars' fundraising efforts to make this trip a reality.
