Happy Wednesday! Here are the announcements for Wednesday, November 20th: Governor's school applications have now opened for 10th and 11th grade students. Please check your email from Mrs. Sweet for further details. The Governor's school applications are due to Mrs. Sweet by DEC. 1. Grateful Grams are on sale until Nov. 22nd! Show what you are thankful for by purchasing a gram to give to a friend. The price for a grateful gram is $1. You may purchase your Grateful Gram in the mornings from 8:45-9:15 and at lunchtime from 11:55-1:00. SGA, Teen Court, and Key Interact are sponsoring a Women & Children Drive from Nov. 4th to Nov. 22nd. Please check our social media for more information. Nov. 22nd, Dec. 6th, 13th, and 20th will be a regular full day of school. The grill will be open until 1:00 on those Fridays. Clubs will be from 9:15 to 10:30 this Friday. Good afternoon, Eagle Families! This is an update regarding an initiative being undertaken by Nash County Public Schools as part of its Strategic Plan. NCPS is seeking input from scholars and parents related to School Climate, Teacher-Student Relationships, School Safety, and expectations. In support of this, scholars at ECHS will be afforded the opportunity to participate in an online survey from December 2nd through 6th as part of their AVID class. The survey will take approximately 20 minutes. If you do not want your scholar to participate in the survey, you are asked to contact our receptionist at 252.451.2890 or via email at dmcopeland@ncpschools.net no later than November 25, 2024. AVID teachers will share a document via Rooms containing a link allowing you to preview the questions. The NCPS Central Office will soon provide information about the parent/guardian survey that will be shared. Good evening, Eagle Families! This is Principal McGeachy with your updates for the week of November 18th through November 22nd. Scholars enrolled in Biology, English II, Math 1, and Math 3 will take their NC Check-in assessments beginning Monday, December 2 through Friday, December 6 in preparation for EOCs the week of December 16th. Friday, November 22nd, will be a full day of instruction and not an Early Release day. This was the adjustment made to our calendar based on the school closure related to Hurricane Helene in September. As of this recording, all buses are scheduled to run their routes in the morning. I want to extend my appreciation to our veteran family members. Regular attendance for high school and college classes continues to be of the utmost importance. · Please remind scholars to pre-order breakfast and lunch meals. Our meals are brought to our school from another location, and we want to ensure enough meals are on hand. I hope everyone enjoyed the extra hour of sleep with the ending of Daylight Savings Time: · There are only 26 instructional days left before we enter testing for EOCs and final exams. I ask for your continued assistance in ensuring our scholars maintain their attendance during this time, as teachers are ramping up efforts to prepare them for testing. · On Thursday, November 7th, our seniors will be on a campus tour of North Carolina Central University to learn about the academic opportunities available to them. · On Friday, November 8th, we would like to show our appreciation for our veterans of the armed services by providing coffee and donuts in our cafeteria.
