Tuesday, March 11th will be ACT testing for 11th graders only. On Tuesday, March 11th, the NHS Induction ceremony will be from 5:30-6:30 at the B & I Auditorium. Good evening, Eagle Families! This is Principal McGeachy with updates for the last full week of February, which will bring much warmer temperatures than we had last week: On Tuesday, February 25th, we will host an AVID Family Night from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. This is a floating event for all grade levels and is an opportunity to meet with teachers and learn helpful ways to support your scholar. Also, the School Counselor and College Success Coach will be available to answer any questions. We hope to see you there! Good evening, Eagle Families! This is Principal McGeachy, and I’d like to share some additional information regarding the recently announced Remote Learning Days that will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 19th, and Thursday, February 20th for ECHS. On both days, scholars will attend class virtually in accordance with their normal daily schedule. For each of their high school classes, teachers will provide live links via Canvas to facilitate 45 minutes of instruction for that particular class. Attendance is based on being present during the live links and/or submitting requested work. As shared by NCPS, if a scholar cannot complete tasks due to a lack of technology, power, or other challenge, the teacher will provide an alternative method for completing the work. Scholars enrolled in Nash Community College classes should communicate directly with their professors to complete required assignments. Please do not hesitate to contact your scholar’s teacher or me if you have questions. Stay safe!

Good afternoon, NCPS Families: Wednesday, February 19, 2025 and Thursday, February 20, 2025 will be Remote Learning Days for all of Nash County Public Schools (NCPS). Synchronous: Grade 3 - Grade 13 - Live instruction via Google Meet. For all students, remote learning assignments may be accessed through: Canvas, Google Classroom, or other communication from your child’s teachers or principal. Student attendance is required; however, NCPS has procedures in place to ensure students are not negatively affected if they are unable to complete tasks due to a lack of technology, power, or other challenges. Please check with your scholar for their group assignment, which was shared via an invitation to them. · Scholars in the 10th grade will take a campus tour of NC State University on Thursday to learn about the academic programs of study offered by the institution. · Scholars enrolled in ENG II will take their NC Check-in assessment this week. It is important that scholars are present for this assessment as it prepares them for taking the EOC at the end of the semester. · As of this recording, all buses are scheduled to run their routes in the morning.
