This is Principal McGeachy with your announcements for the week of February 10th – 14th, 2025:
· NCPS is hosting a Career Technical Education (CTE)Showcase on Thursday, February 13th from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm at Nash Community College's Brown Auditorium. This event will allow you to participate in many hands-on career experiences and will be a fun night of learning. Also, there will be four large giveaways that you will be automatically entered into if you attend the CTE Showcase. The prizes are a gaming system (XBox or Playstation, 50" TV, a gift card bundle, and Beats Studio Headphones). You must be present to win. Also, food trucks will be on-site for dinner purchases.
· Please be on the lookout for a link via email or text from the district about the Guardian Account set-up in SchoolLinks, a powerful career and college planning tool that helps scholars and you - explore career interests, track college applications, and even build resumes. Parents/Guardians are asked to create a Guardian Account in SchooLinks, where you can view your child’s progress and support their future career goals.
· Friday, February 14th is a Mandatory Teacher Workday, and there will be no classes for scholars.
· I encourage you to visit our school website, containing information celebrating some of our scholars' recent accomplishments. These accomplishments include participating in oratory contests and the NC Mock Trial Program, Quiz Bowl competitions, state swimming championships, and being honored by local organizations.
· As of this recording, all buses are scheduled to run their routes in the morning.

Good evening, Eagle Families! This is Principal McGeachy with your announcements for the week of February 3rd – February 7th, 2025: · First, I’d like to begin by thanking everyone who was able to come out and support the Spirit Night at Panda Express last Thursday night, which helped raise funds for the Class of 2027’s senior trip. · This week, Progress Reports will be available for viewing in Infinite Campus for high school classes. If your scholar is taking college classes, I encourage you to view their college grades in Moodle. · National School Counselor’s Week is celebrated this week! At ECHS, we appreciate all that Mrs. Sweet does for our scholars and staff each and every day! · Lastly, I want to share that our scholars have been doing some amazing things around campus. Recently, the Student Government Association planned and conducted a talent show that was held last Friday. Scholars also assisted with visiting middle schools last week and shared the opportunities available by attending ECHS. Later this month, the SGA is sponsoring a door decorating contest to celebrate Black History Month. March 20, 2025, has been changed from a teacher workday to a full day of instruction. The NCPS Board of Education approved this change to recover lost instructional hours due to the recent winter storm. Teachers have informed scholars of this change.

· If you did not receive my email last Friday, this is a reminder that we are working to correct absences erroneously recorded during the Remote Learning Days last week. This was not intentional, and we apologize for any confusion caused. We anticipate having this resolved by the end of the day on January 28th.

SGA is looking forward to our annual talent show which will take place on January 31st from 10:30-12:30.
We will have an intermission and serve refreshments at the talent show. Refreshments will be $3.00 for EITHER a piece of pizza and a drink OR chips and a drink. To ensure that you get your refreshments at the talent show we will be pre-selling through the AVID classes. Please bring your AVID teacher $3.00 (cash/change only) between now and January 30th.
To help with knowing how much refreshments to purchase please fill out this Google Form ONLY if you are planning to purchase food and indicate what food you would like.
On January 31st, you will report to your AVID class at 9:15am to do attendance and receive a wristband if you pre-ordered refreshments.
Once all pre-purchased food is served, others may purchase refreshments but there is a chance we will run out so be sure to pre-purchase your refreshments from your AVID teacher.
