Good evening, Eagle Families!
This is Principal McGeachy, and I hope everyone had an enjoyable Fall Break. Here are your updates for the Week of October 14th:
· I’d like to highlight two events taking place this week that are aimed at supporting those in need. First, our scholars are collecting school supplies to assist the Buncombe County Early College HS in Asheville, NC, which was impacted by Hurricane Helene. Second, we will begin our United Way campaign on October 14th, and it will continue through October 18th. As you may know, the United Way (Tar River Region) supports families in the local area by providing needed resources. Please feel free to contact our school if you’d like to support these efforts.
· Also this week, our scholars enrolled in Biology, Math 1, and Math 3 will take their NC Check-in benchmark assessments. Teachers have informed scholars regarding which day they will take their assessment.
· The grading period for this term will end on Oct. 15th , and report cards will be available on Oct. 21st.
· On Wednesday, Oct. 16th, we are asking our scholars to wear orange in support of National Anti-Bullying Awareness Month.
· On Thursday, Oct. 17th, our 9th grade scholars will visit NC Wesleyan University to learn about the educational programs offered at the university.
· As of this recording, all buses are scheduled to run their routes in the morning.
· Lastly, please visit our school website for updated information about our school.

Scholars,
ECHS has two important events occurring and we need your support! Let's show some Eagle Pride!
First, join the ECHS staff and donate to the United Way campaign fundraiser. See the flyer attached. Which AVID class will win an ice cream party?
Finally, SGA and NHS ask you to bring school supplies to donate to our Early College family at Buncombe Early College, which is located in Asheville, NC. Many of their scholars have suffered tremendous loss. Let's donate school supplies to help them when they return to school. Each AVID teacher has a box in their room for you to place the supplies you bring! See the flyer below for the details.
