Good evening, Eagle Families! This is Principal McGeachy with this week’s updates. National School Counselors Week is February 5-9, and our staff and scholars will be celebrating all that Mrs. Sweet does to support the success of our scholars every day, both in and out of the classroom. ECHS is fortunate to have a group of dedicated teachers who go above and beyond to create a nurturing learning environment. On Friday, our staff selected the 2024-25 Teacher of the Year and Teacher Assistant of the Year. Mrs. Jasmine Wilson, our Chemistry teacher, will serve as the Teacher of the Year, and Ms. Julie Awadallah will serve as the Teacher Assistant of the Year. Teacher recognitions will continue tomorrow night at the NCPS Board meeting. Mrs. Renck, Mrs. Edwards, and Ms. Kirkwood will be among a group of Nash County Public Schools teachers recognized based on the success of their scholars on last year’s EOC tests. Although it’s a short week for our scholars, preparation for the end-of-year EOC tests will occur this week in the form of NC Check-in assessments. These assessments will be given for Biology, Math, and Eng II. As a reminder, the Class of 2024 will also be sponsoring a Valentine’s Dance on February 17th. Ticket sales will continue this week, and proceeds will be used to support the Senior Trip. Lastly, Friday, February 9th, is a teacher workday, and there will be no school for scholars. As always, thanks for your support, and I encourage you to visit our web page for updated information pertaining to our school.

Good evening, Eagle Families!
This is Principal McGeachy. Believe it or not, we are about to close out the month of January! Here are this week’s updates:
- Beginning tomorrow, notifications will be sent via Thrillshare whenever a scholar is tardy to class or late arriving to school. This aligns with the district’s new policy, which assigns consequences for excessive tardies that are not excused. Examples of excused tardies include arriving late from a doctor’s appointment or late bus arrivals. Classroom teachers will address this policy with scholars throughout the week. Notifications for class absences will also continue through Thrillshare. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions.
- Our second Grad Bash Information session will be held on Jan. 30th at 6 p.m. in the Science & Technology Building Auditorium. This information session is for those Class of 2024 scholars traveling to Universal Studios (Florida) in April.
- Speaking of the Class of 2024, this is an exciting time of the year because acceptance letters from colleges and universities are starting to come in. We share that excitement with scholars and their families, and we are so proud of them. Scholars on our School Communications Team will soon begin sharing the specifics of college acceptances on our school website so that we can collectively celebrate our scholars' successes.
- The Class of 2024 will sponsor a Valentine's Dance on February 17th, and tickets will go on sale this week. This dance is for ECHS scholars only, and proceeds will go towards the Senior Trip.
- Lastly, Progress Reports for the 3rd Term will be available on Friday, Feb. 2nd , in PowerSchool.
As always, thanks for your support, and I encourage you to visit our web page for updated information pertaining to our school.
