Dec. 6th, 13th, and 20th will be a regular full day of school. The grill will be open until 1:00 on those Fridays. Please pre order your lunch from the grill everyday.

This is Principal McGeachy, and I hope everyone had a pleasant Thanksgiving break. Here are your updates for the first week of December:
EOC testing and end-of-semester exams are quickly approaching. EOC testing will begin on December 16th, so attendance in high school and college classes is essential.
Panorama Surveys will be administered to scholars during their AVID classes this week.
Our Student Government Association has planned a week of themed days to get our scholars in the holiday spirit. Tomorrow is festive sweater day, and themes for the remainder of the week can be found on our website.
Friday, December 6th, will be a full day of instruction, and dismissal will occur at 4:15 p.m.
As of this recording, all buses are scheduled to run their routes in the morning. Please continue to check our website for updated information pertaining to our school. Thank you, and have a wonderful evening!

Wear your coziest, funniest, or most dazzling holiday sweater to kick off the week in style!
🎄 Tuesday – Whoville Crazy Hair Day
Channel your inner Who from The Grinch with the craziest holiday hair you can dream up!
🎭 Wednesday – Holiday Character Day
Transform into your favorite holiday object, character, or figure—think reindeer, snowmen, or even holiday lights!
☕ Thursday – Cozy Day
Keep it comfy! Wear your favorite cozy clothes (no pajamas, please!) and enjoy some hot chocolate during lunch.
🌟 Friday – Holiday Color Day
Represent your culture's holiday by wearing its colors! For example:
Christmas: Red and green
Kwanzaa: Red, black, and green
Hanukkah: Blue, white, and silver
Let’s celebrate the many traditions that make this season special for everyone!

Good evening, Eagle Families,
I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend. This will be a short week of classes as we head into Thanksgiving break. Our scholars will have classes on Monday and Tuesday and begin their break on Wednesday. We will welcome them back to classes on December 2nd.
Our transportation office will notify you later this evening if any bus drivers will be out tomorrow. Also, road crews will be paving the roads around Nash Community College tomorrow and Tuesday, so expect some delays.
On Tuesday, our school will host a Native American Heritage Program at 3:00 p.m. in the Brown Auditorium. The program will last until 4:00 p.m.
On behalf of the entire ECHS staff, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to those of you who will be going out of town to visit family and friends.

This is an update regarding an initiative being undertaken by Nash County Public Schools as part of its Strategic Plan. NCPS is seeking input from scholars and parents related to School Climate, Teacher-Student Relationships, School Safety, and expectations. In support of this, scholars at ECHS will be afforded the opportunity to participate in an online survey from December 2nd through 6th as part of their AVID class. The survey will take approximately 20 minutes. If you do not want your scholar to participate in the survey, you are asked to contact our receptionist at 252.451.2890 or via email at dmcopeland@ncpschools.net no later than November 25, 2024. AVID teachers will share a document via Rooms containing a link allowing you to preview the questions.
The NCPS Central Office will soon provide information about the parent/guardian survey that will be shared. As always, we value your input as a stakeholder in your scholar(s) 's education and hope that you and your scholar(s) will participate.

Good evening, Eagle Families! This is Principal McGeachy with your updates for the week of November 18th through November 22nd. Scholars enrolled in Biology, English II, Math 1, and Math 3 will take their NC Check-in assessments beginning Monday, December 2 through Friday, December 6 in preparation for EOCs the week of December 16th. Friday, November 22nd, will be a full day of instruction and not an Early Release day. This was the adjustment made to our calendar based on the school closure related to Hurricane Helene in September. As of this recording, all buses are scheduled to run their routes in the morning.
